Super Junior’s member Sungmin and SM Entertainment’s female singer J-Min will act together in the musical “Jack The Ripper”, showing off their mesmerizing good looks.
The musical “Jack The Ripper” which Sungmin and J-Min are going to act in, is based on the story of the notorious Jack The Ripper in 1888, it became the representing musical of Korea after being first performed in 2009. In the musical this time, Sungmin acts as the character Daniel who starts a dangerous transaction for the woman he loves whereas J-Min is planned to act as the woman who has the highest charm in Daniel’s eyes – Gloria.
Sungmin especially, who has been acting as Daniel for 2 years have shown the growing maturity as a musical actor. J-Min on the other hand, participated SMTOWN concert and SMTOWN winter album. While singing OSTs for “Wild Romance’, “God of rain’ and ‘Pitcher King’ etc has shown a charismatic voice and powerful singing skills. “Jack The Ripper” will be her first musical to show off to the public the other charismatic side of her.
The musical “Jack The Ripper” will start on July 20 at the National Theatre of Korea. Casts includes Sungmin, J-Min, Yoo Joon Sang, An Jae Wook.

Michelle’s new film, Cooktales (working title), started filming in Bangkok, Thailand in the middle of April.
Set in Singapore, the story is written and directed by South Korea’s writer-director Gina Kim (Never Forever). The project was first announced at AFM in November 2010. The production was planned to begin last summer in Singapore and China before Michelle’s busy promotional tour on her latest film The Lady. It got postponed to this year because the director fell sick before the scheduled shooting.
In recent interviews Michelle said the film is a family drama and about cooking. Personal differences break apart a family of three generations and cooking brings them back together. Singaporean actor Chin Han (The Dark Knight) and Chinese Canadian singer-songwriter-dancer Henry Lau will play father and son. Other cast members include Hong Kong actor Chang Tseng (2012), Australian actor Aden Young (Mao’s Last Dancer), Japanese model and actress Lika Minamoto, Korean American actor and comedian Bobby Lee (MADtv), and Broadway actress Lori Tan Chinn. Some of the main and supporting actors were in Bangkok in March, learning cooking in preparation for the shooting.
Michelle’s character in the film is described as an “executive producer on a prestigious television cooking show” and “culinary grand master”. More relationships will be revealed as we learn more about the story. The film is being shot in English.

Super Junior‘s Ryeowook selected leader Leeteuk as the pickiest eater in Super Junior.
Ryeowook and actor Lee Hyun Woo were teamed up for the May 28th broadcast of MBC‘s ‘Come To Play – Chef King‘ special.
The hosts began to question Ryeowook about his culinary skills to which he replied, “I’m one of the maknaes of the group. There are a few members that are picky eaters, so after trying to match their demands, my culinary skills naturally improved.”
MC Yoo Jae Suk then followed up by asking who the pickiest eater in Super Junior is, to which Ryeowook immediately blurted, “Leeteuk.” The MCs then joked that Leeteuk should instead be called Eepteuk with eep/ip meaning “mouth” in Korean, and teuk meaning “special/strange”.
Meanwhile, the team that was crowned ‘Chef King’ was Sungmin and Yoon Hyung Bin. Others that guested on this episode were 2AM‘s Changmin and Kwon Oh Joong.

Super Junior‘s Ryeowook revealed his past photos and discussed his chubbier past much to the surprise of the other guests and MCs on ‘Come to Play‘.
On May 28th episode, Ryewook confessed, ”I was quite chubby when I was young. I weighed about 82 kb (~181 lbs),” much to everyone’s surprise considering that he is one of the smaller framed members of Super Junior. “When our family would eat galbi (Korean BBQ) during traditional holidays, I would be told to stop eating.”
When the photos were revealed on screen, Ryeowook made the studio laugh as he commented, “I guess I did eat a lot.”
After viewing these photos, viewers commented, “Wow! He looks really different from now!“, “He’s unrecognizable“, and “That’s really Ryeowook?”
On the same episode, Ryeowook also lamented, “I get stressed out because of my short height… There is about 10 cm height difference between me and Siwon. Sometimes, during interviews, he’ll sometimes put his arms around my shoulder, making me look even smaller, and making me despise him a bit.”

Super Junior‘s Sungmin showed off his skills in the kitchen recently on the ‘Chef King’ special of ‘Come to Play‘.
On the May 28th broadcast of MBC’s ‘Come to Play’, Sungmin surprised everyone on set as he prepared a meal that had everyone’s mouth watering.
He revealed the story behind his dish, ‘jjajang ramen ddukbokki’, stating, “This was a menu that was really popular amongst my younger sibling and friends during my childhood.”
Having tasted Sungmin’s special fushion dish, the judges could not hide their surprise as they commented, “I really wasn’t expecting much, this is much more delicious than the other jjajang ramen I normally have.”
When it was time to crown the ‘Chef King’ after tasting the dishes of the contestants, judge Shin Hyo Seob announced Yoon Hyung Bin and Sungmin team as the winner. He also added, “Yoon Hyung Bin’s dish was delicious too, but Sungmin’s was especially better than expected.”
Other teams that took part in this episode were Lee Hyun Woo – Ryeowook and Kwon Oh Joong – Changmin.

Donica Streling, a 15 year old terminally ill American girl from New York will be going to Korea.
Donica became a big fan of K-pop and Korean dramas two years ago and K-pop gives her comfort. She dreamed about one day traveling to Korea and meeting a K-pop star. Her favorite K-pop stars are Taemin from SHINee and Siwon from Super Junior.
A Canadian businessman who was impressed by the care taking of Donica’s grandmother at a hospital decided to sponsor her visit to Korea and pay for all the expenses. According to some reports, SM Entertainment learned of Donica’s story and will help her dreams come true.
She is learning Korean and will be traveling to Korea on June 16th.
