SM Entertainment to Open Its First Exclusive Store Outside of Korea

SM Entertainment and Avex Taiwan have been working together for half year on the project of opening an SME exclusive store in Taipei, and the day is finally coming as Avex Taiwan announced today that the store will be opened in July.

SME artists including SNSD, Super Junior, DBSK are probably the most popular K-Pop stars in Taiwan at the moment; the explosive popularity is amazing.

As fans are sad about Super Junior’s Siwon and Donghae’s leaving after finishing filming for the Taiwanese drama “Extravagant Challenge”, this great news revealed by SME and Avex Taiwan made fans all light up again. This shop would be the first SME exclusive store outside of Korea; all SME artists’ official products will be available here, and the location is at the heart of Taipei city which would be easy to access. According to the press release, some special events are under preparation for the grand opening as well.

In addition to the opening of the exclusive store, the anticipated “Super Show 3 3D” film will hit theaters in Taiwan on August 26th. SME is surely dominating Taiwan, at least this summer!

SNSD, GD&TOP, Super Junior, and more will perform at “Incheon Korean Music Wave 2011″

Star-studded group of K-pop artists will take part in the upcoming “Incheon Korean Music Wave 2011″ concert, scheduled for August 13th at 6:00pm local time. Ticket and venue information has not yet been confirmed. Although the concert will take place in Incheon, Korea, it is being marketed primarily towards Japanese fans of the artists attending in hopes that they will travel to see their favorite stars. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism sponsored last year’s concert, which was also broadcast on a special episode of Music Core.

This year’s lineup– SNSD, Wonder Girls, KARA, 4minute, Super Junior, BEAST, SHINee, 2AM, 2PM, GD&TOP, SG Wannabe, MBLAQ, and CNBlue–includes many of the Korean pop music scene’s biggest stars. Many have loyal followings across Asia, and others have released singles or albums for the Japanese market (CNBlue debuted quietly in Japan before releasing their first Korean mini album in 2010).
